As part of our ongoing efforts to improve platform stability, we are pleased to announce that we have implemented significant security updates to the UO email system.
Because this functionality uses biometric data to verify your identity, we are required to obtain your consent. Please take a few minutes to log in to your email and accept the revised terms.

This email pretends to come from the UO Technology Service Desk, but it's a scam designed to steal your login information. It uses official-sounding language and a made-up claim about "biometric data" and "consent" to make you feel you're required to act. The "Get Started" button doesn't go to a UO website. The real destination is latitude26.com, which has nothing to do with the university, even though "uo" and "myuoregon" appear in the address to fool a quick glance. If you entered your username and password there, scammers could get into your account. The email also includes one real link to the UO Service Desk to seem trustworthy. UO IT won't ask you to accept new terms through an email link. If you clicked it or entered your information, change your password right away and contact the Technology Service Desk.
